Children's Yoga

Yoga Ananda with teacher Katy Collins, will meet for 6 sessions from 11:45 am to 12:10 each Sat. They are located in the West University area. link

Marita Gardner-Anopol teaches yoga for children ages 4 and older through the teen years into adulthood. She founded Yoga 4 Kids in 1995, and was recognized in Time Magazine as an innovator in 2001. She teaches in schools and universities to improve the academic abilities of students. She offers teacher training. link
 
NIA Moves offers a Mommy & Me Post Partum Iyengar Yoga Class. Pauline Schloesser, PhD teaches the class on Wed @ 10:30 am. NIA Moves is in the Heights near I-45.  link

The Motherhood Center has yoga for kids 4-9 on Thursdays from 4-5 pm and Mommy & Me yoga Tue, Thurs & Sat 11:15-12:00 noon. They are located in the Greenway Plaza area near Highway 59/Timmons & Alabama. link
 
Su Marshman teaches Yoga For Children at several places:

  •     Grace United Methodist Church in the Heights

  •     Boustany Hatha Yoga Studio in Montrose

  •     The Houstonian

  •     Awty International School

  •     Jewish Community Center on S. Braeswood in the summer


She also teaches Therapeutic yoga for children with disabilities like Down Syndrome, ADHD, Cerebral Palsy etc.

Charmaine van Niekerk teaches a weekly kids yoga class at the YMCA in Sugar Land. She is interested in starting additional classes in schools or her home studio. link
 
Yoga West offers kids yoga classes during Spring Break and during the summer. If there was sufficient interest, additional classes could be arranged. They also offer prenatal and mommy & me yoga classes. they are located on N. Fry Road in West Houston. link
